Jeff Ascough has devoted the past thirty years of his life to the art and craft of photography. Equally at home shooting a portrait, a landscape, or a documentary wedding photograph, his images are defined by his love of composition and light.
Voted as one of the top 100 photographers of all time by Professional Photographer magazine, Jeff’s images have been exhibited all over the world including The Getty Image Gallery in London and the Visa Pour L’Image festival in France. His life and work have been the subject of interviews in The Washington Post, Newsweek, Sueddutsche Zeitung, Adore Noir, American Photo, British Journal of Photography, The Photographer, The Master Photographer, Professional Photographer USA, Photo Pro, Rangefinder, Digital Pro, CPN, Phase One, Alien Skin, and Canon Europe.
Throughout his career, Jeff has devoted a lot of time to teaching photography to others. He has been a Canon Ambassador since 2008 and regularly travels throughout Europe educating and inspiring photographers from all over the world. In 2012 he spent a week in France helping Sir Don McCullin take his first steps into digital capture.
Sarah Ascough picked up the camera a little later than Jeff. In 1998 she joined Jeff’s business to allow him to concentrate on photography while she looked after the marketing and administration. She also assisted Jeff on many assignments and worked daily with thousands of his images. Her photographic education was first class and became invaluable to her when she started to shoot professionally.
As a photographer Sarah is naturally drawn towards people; their personalities and relationships. Whether she is photographing a street scene or a wedding, she is always looking for pictures that are full of character, often with a sense of humour and irony. Her images were recently used as part of an international advertising campaign for Canon Europe.
