25th JULY 2017

A small, intimate workshop/experience day starting at our home in the beautiful seaside town of Lytham St Annes in Lancashire, and moving on to photograph the people and places along the Fylde coast.

Each day is limited to just FIVE participants and will be a chance to kick back, relax, shoot, and totally immerse yourself in photography.

The day will start with coffee and introductions and then it's a very short walk through the leafy streets of the town to shoot the beautiful Ribble Estuary with its windmill and jetty, fishing boats and panoramic views across to Southport. Here Jeff will look at finding light, how to create dynamic composition, and capture stunning seascapes.

After a light lunch it's off to shoot the hustle and bustle of Blackpool with its beaches and promenade. At this time of year it is a street photographer's paradise. Here you can shoot alongside Jeff and Sarah, see how they each approach their photography, the techniques they use, and get unlimited help and tuition from them. If you have the stamina, we could be shooting well into the evening!

We are currently taking bookings for the next workshop which is 25th July 2017 in Lytham St Annes in Lancashire.

The cost for this fantastic day of photography is just £250 which includes lunch.

The places are strictly limited to just five people. If you are interested in attending, please contact us to secure your place. We can also advise you on what to bring and where to stay.

Lytham St Annes is easily accessible from the whole of the North and only a couple of hours by road from Birmingham. From London, take the train from Euston to Preston (approx 2hrs 15min) and then a short train journey from Preston to St Annes on Sea. Our home is a ten minute walk from the station. Our local airports are Manchester and Liverpool. As we live in a holiday resort, there are literally hundreds of hotels and B&B within easy reach of our studio.

Spend a day with Jeff at our studio on the beautiful Lancashire coast and let him help you to become a better photographer. The day is completely open in terms of what you want to learn. You can spend time with a model in the studio working with light and form; walk along the miles of coastline shooting landscapes; take to the bustling streets of Blackpool for some street photography; or maybe you want to learn how to process and print digital images or shoot meaningful pictures with an iPhone? Perhaps you need help with digital capture or film photography? This is your day and Jeff will bring nearly 30 years of experience to the table to help and guide you. Popular topics include

Wedding photography

Street photography

Lightroom and Photoshop training

Shooting with film

Starting a new business

The cost for an eight hour day is only £520 including a light lunch. If models are required these are charged at cost. Please contact us for more details.

"An exclusive one to one experience with Jeff was one of the most enlightening experiences I’ve had in photography. I have been a wedding and portrait photographer for several years, but wanted to take my work to the next level. Jeff tailored the workshop to build on my personal skill level, and cater to my objectives. He took the time to critique my existing work, and we built on his advice in practice. His guidance has been invaluable in enhancing my photography. From getting the most out of my camera, to posing, lighting and post-processing, I learned more in this one day than I have in the last few years.”

Need help with your photography? Having problem choosing the images for your website or portfolio? Stuck in a rut and not sure how to get out of it? The answer is to have a critique of your work.

We all know it can be intimidating putting your pictures up for critique but if it’s done properly, having another photographer take a look at your work can be one of the most positive experiences you can have. There should be nothing intimidating about having a discussion on photography. We believe that a fresh set of eyes can often see something that you may have missed and our number one aim is to help you to become a better photographer, so let Jeff take an in-depth look at your work and offer some positive and constructive thoughts.

A two hour critique via Skype is just £200 and judging by some of the photographers we have helped in the past, this may be the best £200 you spend on your photography.

“I have been fortunate enough to receive Jeff’s input on a yearly basis and through each [online] critique and in relation to my growing level of understanding, Jeff has been able to coach and direct me on my camera technique and control within different environments and situations, my position as a photographer in relation to the subject, my post production and my ability to see and construct a potential photograph...the quality of my work has exceeded the ceiling that I thought that I was capable of, and this is directly attributed to the input that I have received from Jeff.”
